Every child deserves stability, space to grow, and education. But today, across this country, those basic truths are under direct attack.
The current administration’s policies — from cuts to child-centered services, to rollbacks in food access, to assaults on public education, to increased surveillance and punishment of families — represent a coordinated assault on children, on childhood itself, and on the parents and caregivers who fight every day to protect them. These are not abstract political maneuvers. They are actions that make kids hungrier, families more stressed, neighborhoods less safe, and futures harder to reach.
At Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project, we reject this cruelty with everything we have.
Supporting children is not political. Nourishing families is not controversial.
Protecting childhood is the baseline of any decent society.
ANV was built to offer what harmful systems will not: care, safety, dignity, and opportunity. On our farms, in our youth programs, at Camp ANV, and through leadership pathways, children experience joy, nourishment, consistency, and community — the foundational ingredients that help counter the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). These protective spaces are more critical now than ever.
Our 2026 campaign, “This is Not Controversial,” is our loud, unapologetic response to a moment when children are being pushed to the margins. It’s a promise that we will not allow their futures to be sacrificed to political theater, indifference, or hostility toward working-class families.
